Not financial advice

The calculators on this site produce estimates. They are not regulated financial advice and must not be relied on as such. For decisions about your specific circumstances — especially anything mortgage, pension, or tax-residency related , speak to a qualified accountant or financial adviser.

ContractorMaths is a UK contractor calculator publication (see About). It is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not provide regulated financial advice, investment advice, mortgage advice, or tax advice within the meaning of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

Calculator outputs are estimates derived from public rates published by HMRC and the Scottish Government, applied to the inputs you provide. Real-world tax computations can differ because of factors the site doesn't model, see the methodology pagefor the cross-site list, and each calculator's “Edge cases” section for tool-specific limits.

Rates change. The site is updated within 24 hours of every Spring Budget and on each new tax year (6 April), but if you're reading an archived page or using a calculator during a transitional period, double-check the “Last reviewed” date in the footer before relying on the figure.

Affiliate-linked partners (clearly labelled with a “Partner link · paid recommendation”tag) are recommended on the basis that we believe they're a reasonable choice for the typical user landing on that page. We don't make individual recommendations and we have no view on whether any specific partner is right for your circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ContractorMaths and its operator accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on information or calculator outputs on this site. Always verify the result against your own records, your accountant, or HMRC before making a financial decision.

Reporting errors

If a calculator gives a number you believe is wrong, please email hello@contractormaths.co.uk with the URL and what you expected. Bugs get fixed within 24 hours; the fix is noted in the page's changelog.
