Cookie policy

TL;DR
ContractorMaths sets no cookies. None for analytics, none for advertising, none for “functionality”. If you click an affiliate link to a partner site, that partner may set cookies, their cookie policy applies once you leave us.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device so it can remember information between visits. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), most cookies require your consent before they're set. Sites that don't set cookies don't need a banner.
Cookies set by ContractorMaths
None.
Why we don't need an analytics cookie
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and top pages without setting cookies and without identifying individual visitors. There's nothing to consent to — it's aggregated and anonymous by design. See our privacy policy for more detail.
Calculator state in your URL
Some calculators serialise your inputs to the URL query string so you can share or bookmark a calculation. That is URL parameter data, not a cookie. It only ever lives in your browser's address bar.
What happens when you click an affiliate link
Affiliate links on ContractorMaths are clearly labelled with a “Partner link · paid recommendation” tag. When you click one, you leave our site and arrive at a partner site (or an affiliate network like Awin that immediately redirects you).
That partner site may set its own cookies, typically a tracking cookie that lets the partner attribute a future sign-up back to the click. Those cookies are governed by the partner's cookie policy, which you can usually find linked in their footer.
How to control cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you block third-party cookies, see what cookies a page has set, or clear all cookies for a specific site. The Information Commissioner's Office keeps a useful guide at ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/online/cookies.
Changes
If we ever start setting cookies (for example to add a sign-in feature or save preferences), this page will be updated and a banner will be shown for as long as legally required to obtain consent.
